In this common, in-office procedure, a small tube is temporarily placed in the eardrum to relieve middle ear pressure and/or drain fluid. This procedure is most commonly performed on children and adolescents, although it may be utilized to treat adults with related symptoms.
Video Nystagmography AKA: VNG Testing, Dizziness Evaluation
Specialized inner ear testing is performed under the direction of an Audiologist to evaluate and treat the underlying issues associated with chronic dizziness or balance issues. VNG measures the movements of the eyes directly through infrared cameras providing a more precise evaluation result. Because the testing is also more comfortable for the patient, accurate test results are more easily achieved. VNG is one of the only testing methods available to determine the difference between a unilateral (one ear) and bilateral (both ears) balance problem.
